Laserdiscs For Sale : $1

Hello everybody. I amassed a large amount of laserdiscs for cutting experiments and the like over the years. Definitely an interesting medium to cut on, but I absolutely have more than I need. Selling off for $1 per disc, plus shipping. I am based in San Francisco. Buy whatever amount, about 400 rem...

Re: Presto lathe value?

More info on the Model of the unit and its condition would be helpful. Put some pictures up if you can't identify it; the folks here most definitely can.

WtB Presto 6n or similar. Can also add on trade gear.

Hey everyone! Looking to move up to a Presto 6n or similar. Still a beginner here, so am prepared to pay for a working machine. Located in Sf Bay area, Ca. I have family in both southern California and Seattle, and visit quite often, so not opposed to traveling to a location on the west coast. If in...

Re: Rek-O-Kut VS Presto Lathes

Awesome, thanks for the Info Angus, your posts throughout the board have been very helpful. Yeah, I would honestly love to go for a 6n, but complete machines have seemed harder to come by. A nice collection of leadscrews and a huge platter would make the possibility of this hobby endless! The right ...

Re: Wilcox Gay Recordio model 6A10

Thanks Tragwag, definitely some good info! Yeah I want to get this thing open and do some cleaning. My line inputs take ALOT of juice to get any sound from the head, and very little from the speaker. Probably a tube and cutter head problem. The Mic didn't come with it, but the speaker buzzes and pipe...

Rek-O-Kut VS Presto Lathes

Hey there everyone Wondering If there was any kind of consensus on a better machine for a newbie between these two companies, and what features really make them stand out from one another. Seems Imperials and 6n's are owned by a lot of folks in the community; Is one easier to operate and maintain th...

Re: Wilcox Gay Recordio model 6A10

Hey Guys! Newbie here who also just got a W.G. 6a10! Mine seems to work alright with a little maintenance so far; got the 33/78 to work correctly after slipping. Although I do have some questions. My Cutter head is working/cutting/making noise; what is the best way to tell when one needs replacement...

Re: Looking for more info on 33 rpm portable cutters

Haha, yes we will be on the short bus for a while it seems! i don't have enough electrical knowledge to buy a rek/presto currently; if there were problems internally I would be pretty out of luck. I just picked up a Wilcox-Gay, and so far am quite happy with it. They are incredibly simple machines, ...

Looking for more info on 33 rpm portable cutters

Hey everyone. I've been unable to find / not sure a list exists on which cutters can cut in 33rpm. Preferably the beginner machines like Wilcox and the like as i'm on a budget. I believe the Wilcox 6a10 does, but still haven't found a clear answer. Have also looked into the 3 speed recordettes. Any ...

Looking for beginner lathe. Can trade laserdiscs // Etc.

Hello everyone, first post here. I've been searching for a working beginner to intermediate lathe. If anyone thinks they can part with one, I feel I can generate a unique offer. I work at a very large media facility on the west coast, large enough that we find ourselves donating excess media//plasti...
