New Sontec Switches for 430, 432

Hi Folks, I've contracted DACT to make sets of switches for my Sontec 430B (4 channel unit). I just checked a 432C to make sure that the resistor values are the same and they are. If you have a Sontec with dodgy switches, I will have sets in about 3 months for $2800 with a harness. If you are intere...

Re: Al Grundy parts/treasure trove

Some of Al's items have been restored. I've started a new thread to list them when they come up. VAB 084, SX-68, SX-74, connectors, modules... going on eBay as I get them finished and packed for shipment.

VAB 84 for sale on eBay soon. Neumann's best Elliptical EQ

Hi Trolls, It's been a while but some of Al's treasure is finally repaired and going to go up for sale over the next several weeks. Every one of these items is being carefully restored to perfect working condition (see spec sheet). It has been quite a shit-dig to get this stuff going, that's for sur...

Thanks for the help, guys! It looks like there are about a dozen processor cards and several interface cards of sorts. I'll take hi-res pics this weekend of these and other weird items (weird to me anyway... I only know Neumann stuff pretty well. Other lathes, I have to fake it!) :?:

Great info

Wow Guys. That's all good info. I'll be able to get pictures next weekend. We are going to line stuff up and get good photos onto a picture bucket. With the Troll's help, we'll be able to disperse stuff, get the Grundy family some funds for the collection, and not have valuable parts go to waste. Al...

OK, Tripp... Fellow Trolls, the subject is "CBS Discomputer cards for LS76" at the moment. If you know someone who has a need for these, please point them to the thread. In the future, groups of specific brands and gear will appear in lots, fotos will be posted, and eBay auctions set up. In the mean...

CBS Discomputer cards for LS76

Let me be more specific about the mystery box I need to find a home for... I think there were only a few of these machines made (for CBS in NY). The cards are a few different types custom build by the shop at CBS. They are only worth something to those who have that particular lathe. I bet they made...

Yes, Piaptk. Thanks for your interest! Al was a fan of all of it. There are cubbies, shelves, closets, benches, window sills, attics, and more, with things to sort. Everyone, please let us work on it for a few weeks to figure out what we have. Time spent responding to requests is time not digging......

Al Grundy parts/treasure trove

Hi Trolls, A group of Al's Boyz are sorting his shop out and many items of treasure will come into play over the next several months. Once we sort gear and parts into scatagories, I'll post them. We need help getting valuable and obscure items out to people that would find them useful. Al and I talk...

Studio in Arizona

Hi Steve, Apparently, the is a studio in Arizona that has a stage set up for acoustic recording with handcrafted but modern components. It is an experiment to push the state of the art in non-electrical recording using modern materials, etc. Man's gotta have a hobby! I heard about it through a frien...

Neumann, Scully, Presto, RoK, parts, head repairs, etc.

Hello Trolls! This is a great site. I'm a recording studio tech who's been at it for years in NYC. I just want all of you to know that my friend and mentor, Al Grundy has a wearhouse FULL of parts and complete assemblies for anything that cuts. He's been at it for over 60 years and is still active. ...

Advice needed : Setting Up Grampian with Presto 6N

Hi Aussie, One of my best friends is Al Grundy. He has been cutting records for around 60 years and used to be the president of the Audio Engineering Society. He has a shop full of Presto, Grampian, Neumann, Scully, etc. etc. parts and amps. He can also rewind yer cutterhead and supply you with sche...
