Thanks Thomas! Really good stuff here. I've been curious about his cutterhead for a long time. The cutting chain in the photo is pretty epic. Can anyone shed light on the gigantic meter bridge and knob compliment? What became of this setup and his pressing equipment? The article eludes to sale of t...

yes, if only both these things were real. Of course, that would make life to easy. What other nerdy subject would I spend my time obsessing over?

I found this Emory Cook article while surfing the web today. Pretty cool. regrind quality

I've been looking into buying some regrind, but I have so idea of the specification of what I need to press a record.

Can someone let me know the usable 'specs' of the regrind I need to purchase?

Alternative methods for plating?

I've been tinkering with electroplating plastics with nickels, looking for a solution for doing plating at home. Aside from the standard tin chloride/silver spray and then into an electroplating bath, what alternative methods are there for plating? I found a mention of using a dipping solution for e...

I'll dig them out tomorrow. You can just have it for the cost of shipping. I'm never repressing this record anyway. I've sold 12 (out of 300) copies in three years and the band broke up. Great tunes, though. :-) Hey, whats the record? I'd like to buy a copy so I can compare what I press with a prof...

Yeah, I think bricks or a cheap hydraulic press would work.

I only own one stamper, but it doesn't have a lip. Is that standard?

Hi, glad you like it. I just posted a sound clip. You can check it out here: www.corporaterecords.biz/Copper.wav . It's guitar and drums. It was cut with a sapphire stylus. This is just a prototype. The finished version will have flash memory circuitry built into it so that you can plug a usb cable...

wax records

Does anyone have any info on the makeup of old-school wax blanks?

Also, does anyone know how the graphite was applied to the wax after it was cut?

That sounds rad. I wonder if I could do a DIY one. Anyone have a pic?
