Super Record Press operators
Are you sure about all that Aussie? [The other 7" press operator, Phillip, would also make 4 x 7" discs per hour but was not one to read the newspaper at the same time.] Surprised! At this rate, if Philip was pushing 4 x 7" per hour he could have read the Daily Telecrap every day (I must admit not m...

Hey Monoplex I think you got yourself quite a good basis to start from By the looks of the bits and pieces whoever owned this thing before knew what he was doing so there may be mods there away from a standard machine nothing hard to sort out Hey these machines were never "plug and play" any way, so...

Re: Vinyl Record Press for the brave and Knowledgable Man
- 100 ton or close to it Yes you do need that amount of Tonnage - plenty clearance for add-on steam, water piping & heating/cooling platens These are bolted on the side as close as possible to the die There is always room on the sides of presses not a big issue - bonus for speed: pump and hydraulic...

Gentlemen, I'm sorry to say that we did this in my plant with a steam pressure of 160psi (or was it 150psi??). His name was George and nobody stood there with a whip! But this is assuming that everything is automatic once the record is removed....research time! :D And so what! 4 per minute 5, 10 or...

Vinyl Record Press and Speed of production
We are only getting about 120 PSI of steam and cold water, which allows us a 30 second cycle for 7" and 45 second cycle for 12". We can alter the speed a bit but this is where we found the best consistency. Honestly, between trimming the record, checking the grooves on both sides, applying labels, ...
