lol JayDC, no, its not supposed to be liquid. liquid helium wouldn't do any cooling. It is liquid in the bottle and as soon as it comes out it expands into gas (which makes it cooler) and this cool gas flows through the head :)

for jukeboxes, PVC only, with a large center hole and 1.5mm thick.
souri made his machine for jukeboxes. it works great.
jukeboxes are adjusted to a bit more needle weight than a usual turntable - about 5-7 grams usually.

10 000? I thought they were more expensive :)
But then you need extra equipment to get the press working don't you? Like steam and cold water etc? Or is this all included?

each cut is unique. you cannot reproduce the original.
the medium does not compress the sound.
you probably mean playback distortion, which increases with decreasing groove radius and increasing frequency - an elliptical needle will reduce these distoritions, compared to a spherical one.

with the machine which i have seen it seems to be "glued" into the outer tube with silicone. an option would be to buy the inside-out stuff from souri - it contains another motor which you can use instead of the original one (and which is attached at another place) be careful if you try to take out ...
