Re: Motor Speed Control (VFD - Variable Frequency Drive)

Best solution for half speed mastering is to drive the platter via belt with an external servo motor .

Re: Training at Magnetic Fidelity in Greece

Jesus is a nice guy with knowledge and education about sound & electronics, that's for sure!
Also he's manufacturing great solutions for our old record lathes, not with rediculous 3d printing plastic cnc, but with very precision Swiss metal lathes.

Re: Vanrock audio volume and mixing

I'm not a vanrock owner but first of all check the dc resistance of you cutterhead with a multimeter normally it will read something between 4-8 ohms.
2. Maybe the enclosed amplifier has defect.
3. All embossed recordings is lower compared tradisional pressed records.

Re: New: Phonocut Desktop Disc Cutter

Just like a cd burner isn't enough to get tracks sounding great on CD, I really doubt this thing can do the magic it promises. In my experience good cuts come from good (mastering) engineers. This one size fits all might be enough for some, but doubt it will be for me. Worst case it will flood the ...

Re: A New Source for Blank Records

Yesterday, i've received the free samples from Blanq. Embossed with sapphire needle @ 45rpm & 161 lpi. I think that blank is a bit noiser than poly but more soft which gives perfect trackability and rich low frequencies. Zippo fluid as always with no heat. Here is a quick and dirty testing psQA0vG-...

Re: vinyl recorder t-560 external motor calibration with 121

I'd follow SueDenim if I was you, When I received my brand new motor, all the pins were all unsoldered inside the box ... maybe shipping... maybe a bad soldering job... I don't know. I also changed the spindle and for me it worked... It was making it flutter a little even with the motor Thanks. I h...
