I have a track on Minimalizm V3, it's a noise loop of weird high babbling, made from recording of an amazing-sounding water heater :) Alas it's not a perfect cut, marred by a bit of a click but I understand that's an unavoidable risk with locked groves, goes with the territory sometimes... Hi, just wondering if anyone knows for sure if it's wise/ok to play Dictaphone Soundscriber records on a normal record player, eg a DJ turntable? I understand this sort of record is embossed rather than actually cut, does this (or any other factor) mean it shouldn't be played back with modern cartri...

searching "locked groove" might be more fruitful if you haven't tried, that's a more common term for this than "loop record"

I'm thinking of getting a small release cut by Peter King (http://home.comcast.net/~cassetto/)... been vaguely meaning to for years but soon I think i really will get my act together and just do so! :) Not read much mention of King Records here?, anyone have any experience/thoughts/hints etc? Anyone...

maybe hot glue from a gluegun would work?? Wouldn't have to wait so long to dry as pva...

you could maybe apply it in a spiral on the rotating record!? Or melt a load of it in a pan or somehting?? hmmm

Nope, gramophone = wind up record player, they don't inherently cut... also i gather they're not ideal for playing lathe cut records as the needles cause much more wear than a modern record player...
