Any more on my original thread please ? Its gone off topic. I currently use 2mm PVC in my 8 jukeboxes and works fine, but was considering Reference Lites instead - on the basis that sapphire cutter styli are far less expensive than the diamond. I have never had record wear issues on any kind of reco...

Sapphire & Reference Lites - or Diamond and PVC

Can someone confirm reference lites are cut using a heated sapphire please ?

What is the better option,
Sapphire & Reference Lites - or Diamond and PVC ?

For quality and durability of 7" records to be played in a jukebox ?

Thanks

I got it from AndyBee. I have found him a good guy to deal with.
He has offered to try the stylus on his cutter. However it has got damaged in the post so hopefully my compensation will buy me another.
It is the same stylus as the vynilium one in the link above.

Stylus Shank Length Vs Sound Quality / Diamond Distortion

I cut on PVC but sapphire styli don't last long so I have bought a diamond stylus. The surface hiss is pretty much zero now, but the quality of sound seems a little hollow compared with the sapphire, and it distorts in the treble area (not always the same frequency). Should I expect this or is somet...

Perfect cutting on acrylic sheet ruined stylus

I want an opinion on this really. I am in the UK and purchase sheets of 2mm acrylic (or pvc) sheet from the DIY store. I score 7" with a template I have set up, and cut the disks and play on a jukebox. No problem there. Ever so slight hiss occasionally, but generally a silent-ish cut. No heat necess...

Thanks, but I don't think they are listed.
The only 2 there are Ortofons with an alloy shank. Mine do not have a shank as such - it is all part of the stylus,

Thanks

Ortofon DS522 Styli Wanted

Does anyone know who sells the styli for Ortofon DS522 cutter heads ?
Dimensions are 4mm length and .73-.75 mm diameter.

Is there a stylus from another head manufacturer that will fit those dimensions ?

Thanks
