Ive used Safeway’s “Signature” brand picnic plates with “good” results. Fidelity was actually very nice, the noise floor was a bearable white noise beneath it. Solo brand plates should give you the same.

Yes, 1/8" is no problem, as long as you adjust the right side of the overhead so that the overhead is level across the face of the disc. You can also just take off the platter mat, which should get you close.

Get a 100g spring scale on amazon or something. Then make sure you have 35g of weight on the head. You can add weight, OR you can pull the stylus out a little further, which will add more weight.
