Hello. I have a presto k8 with the stock cutter head and stylus and am producing cuts with very low volume, I've tested the amp and it is fine, so it's either the cutter head or the stylus. Oh yeah, that's it. Mine did not have te black plastic stuff near the needle though , that must have been removed, just need it sounding louder

I'm insure it's the one that comes with the presto K8, I got it sounding better but still very low, I tried another amp and confirmed the issue is with the head or the stylus, I'm thinking of sending it to be repaired and getting a ruby stylus

Ok so the motor is perfect now, jcc when I open the cutter head all I see besides the yellow rubber is a big magnet, I'm not sure where the rubber you're referring to is, any help? Thanks guys! The lever that turns on and off the rotation was bent causing the motor to be off kilter, the bottom was missing a nut, I unbent the lever and added the nut and it's better than ever!!

Now I need to open the cutter head to check out the rubber dampening stuff

hello, i should start by saying i am very new to this, my goal was to get a cheap K8 and fix it up a bit, start cutting to learn the ropes and then upgrade to a stereo lathe once i know what I'm doing.
