First to the aquarium store and then to the home winemaker (vinter) store. And YES, use a proper cork bunghole if you can.
BUNGHOLE.

Re: 3D printed cutterhead parts
I just found out that my public library has a public 3d printer they can let you use AT COST. I don't know anything about 3d printing or any of that but I would be glad to steal some of your designs. I'm guessing it's some sort of computer file that you throw at the machine, stick your quarters in a...

You guys are the best. Who even talks about this stuff? Maybe you should all move to Eugene and start a militant record cutting compound with me, prestofan and epicenterbryan. That's really the only viable solution here. We already have a field extension office located in Tucson. That's only like a ...

Re: Lathe Cut = synonymous with Crap
Fred's right. It is literally twilight zone tier magic that a single modulated groove can reproduce any kind of sound. Once you incorporate two separate signals into a single modulated groove it's even crazier wizard level stuff. This argument is kind of dumb. Tim in bovey is right. I also like Fred...

". Obviously I can't say that I'm right, as music and the enjoyment thereof is completely in the ears of the listener, and everyone has different tastes."
Yes, you can say that you're right. That was a fantastic rant. I would love to read the whole thing, if you have a link or something

You absorb acoustical information from both sides of your head AND resonant points in your body. If you absorbed acoustical information in MONO you wouldn't be able to tell which direction shit is coming from and you would get run over by bicycles every single day. And no Dude, we can't all just get...

Yeah stuff your lathe cuts up your ass punks! I literally stand there with a pair of tweezers and a magnifying glass-screw the vacuum- and generally brush towards center and pick with tweezers if the swarf starts to bunch on the needle - sometimes I even grab the swarf thread and pull it away like rolling yarn!. IT HELPS IF YOU HAVE YOUR WHOLE ...

This thing might be worth 2,000 us dollars IF the electronics worked GOOD. I hope this helps and good luck with your sale. What is the history of the machine? Why is it in Japan? Does Japanese electricity work on it?

Re: Advice on lathe machines
Man that sounds like a lot kinda. Personally I think a good outside amp with a proper fuse should make the head sound ok but yeah, chances are that you might have to get it cleaned up. A few people on here fix those for cheap....so the turntable spins but the ring is all messed up? That sucks but ap...

Re: Advice on lathe machines
K8 is a great lathe for beginners. You can learn all the stuff you need to with it without destroying thousands of dollars of equipment and make some bad ass funky cuts while you're at it. Don't expect your first cuts to even be playable or sound good. But you will learn.

Re: Questions about my set up. New Presto user.
I remember the first time I lugged my k8 over to Alan's house for inspection. At first he appeared to be a very old gentleman shuffling up to my truck to look at the Presto of days gone by. But that thought was quickly extinguished when he said "no, you don't uhh want to pick it up like that" and ho...
