we get a minimum of 100 hours with souris stylus.
heating:
black: around 38 degrees (you're too hot)
trans: around 40
no heated stylus at all !
try using slovent to whipe the disks before cutting

this is not noisey at all. and the noise is probably around 1K and above, so some foam and damping material make it almost dead quiet.

we had it all: - industrial strength vacuums, - modified fish pumps, - souris pump the pumps are to weak, the vacuums very noisy and burn after approx a year. so we decided t get something more durable: only run for couple of days now, but strong, quiet and still 3 years of warranty on it, were happ...

Cutting is the highest art form in producing audio, but today everyone call themself a master. Cause you only need the right tools, they think... +1 were cutting for 12+ years now and i still do not know why and how exactely it works... the key really is practice. as your mixer goes, get something ...

we have both. the pump is our backup. then we forget about it and cut with pump...

since we have an isolated room for vacuum, air compressor, noisy power amps, we do not hear theses things anymore.
