Vestax Harmodisk and Styli

Hi! I just found an old Harmodisk in a box. I watched it a little bit under the mikroscope. The disc is full black, no transparent coating on it. Vestax told the cutters to cut with normal adamant laquer styli? I cutted this plates with diamond, but styli-time was not long. Was there a special styli...

he he, but cutting loud is dangerous. 2 weeks ago, I cutted a record for a small dance label. so, there was only 6min material per side, at 45RPM. I wanted to go to the max. The the cut was very very very loud, I cutted also with halfspeed, very deep grooves. The record was so loud, that the label d...

Hello!
I think, the RIAA can be used with any lathe.
The main thing is the cutting head, the VC-200 is
designed for the SC-99 cutting head. If you want to use
another one, you have to check this out, before.
Don´t hesitate to contact me.

I had the same problem, I have a lyrec motor 110v/60hz, but here in germany is 220v 50hz.
I solved the problem with a siemens micromaster motor controller box.
I makes a nice 110v 60hz out of 220v :)
best thing: Halfspeed is easy, you can program several motor Hz and store it in memory :)

how many/much amperes have you used?
normal is 0.5A, if stylus is old, I use more, but max. 0.8A.
Maybe you need a other wire...
It can´t be heated to much without problems...

How do you glue the heating wire to the diamond?

:?:  :?:

yes, you need a special loop electronics. It depends on, what cutting lathe you have. vinylium pitch does it, and souri offers a add-one kit, as far as I know.... you have to adjust the loop length, then you can start. I use the vinylium pitch, and it works very well! I´ve cutted some loop LP´s with...
