Re: Dashpot Oil - What Are You Using?
Prestos - vegetable glycerine. Works just fine. It's what is recommended in the manual... Vinyl Recorder - RC shock silicone oil. RC tires on the cutterhead, so seems quite fitting! I believe it is 500cSt or around 60wt. Can't remember! I just asked for the middle of the range expecting to go higher...

Re: My Shank Nightingale Feedback head reviews?
+1 for the MyShank love-in. Solid, reliable service run by nice humans. Great products. Saved me when Mr Sourisseau ghosted me! If I was thinking about a new stereo cutterhead right now, it would be top of the list - wait or no.

Cartridge re-tipping..?
Hi All,
One of my Fairchild 225-A carts has lost its tip.
I'd really like to get it repaired and was wondering if any trolls offer such a service, or could recommend someone?
Thanks!

Re: Presto 8N Swarf Tube
Awesome, thanks man. I can use the original tube bracket with a bit of copper pipe to achieve the same thing.

Presto 8N Swarf Tube
Hi all, I'm looking to improve the swarf pick up on my 8N's. The standard Presto system - where a straight tube with a flared opening is mounted out in front of the head - kind of works for lacquers but for plastic it is pointless. I'm scratching my head over how to mount a VR-style tube that gets r...

Re: lose pitch with VR
For the price of Souri's external motor and steel plate you can get a nice SP-15 or if you are patient an SP-10mk2. The SP-10mk2 is becoming very expensive on eBay, but sometimes you can still get a good deal. If you are good with electronics, the SP-15 can be a real bargain. A lot of them sell for ...

It seems that a software like yours or the Izotope/Adobe ones might come in handy if I continue this dive into the world of vinyl... +1 for Adobe Audition. This is great! Love the idea of having an envelope follower driving the voltage regulator. 8) I know a guy who builds modular synths, so I'm going to see if we can knock something up between us and will share the findings... I'm thinking the env. follower would need to be driven by a summed and low-...
