i generally cut on lexan and i get better results on that for sure but ive had great results on plastic plates the main problem has been warping of the plates after i emboss, as long as they stay flat i can play them i tried gluing cardstock to the matt side and it worked but i like the idea of havi...

yes its a bit back and zero heat im using a pa poweramp and a computer to do the processing (eq multiband compressor and limiting) at first i thought the heat was the problem when i was embossing single plates and they would curl up but it made little difference, by sandwiching them together i can e...

a compressor after the source would tame any big peaks and if you want to add some air to the top then add an eq with some extra hi end after the compressor or just play with it until you get what you want.

the original ttx had problems with overheating and there was a sensor that would blow , you could bypass this and drill holes in the bottom case to keep the heat down and they would work fine after that, great decks i serviced a lot of them.

have you thought about rim drive like a broadcast deck i have one and the torque is way more

i have a mcurdy ch 12 if your interested its mostly complete just needs a cam and an idler wheel but other than that it is mint

embossing with metal needles is not hifi
