Re: Screeching Sapphires.....

Are you using my sapphire embossing cones or are you using a backwards cutting sapphire?

If your volume is too hot on an embossed disc it will skip and skate on a cheap crosley.

Re: FS: Audax H5 Cutter Head

Pretty neat. Never seen a gold badge on those. Will be worth more if you an ohmeter on the leads to confirm there is continuity. Should read around 4.7 ohms. Be worth even more if you run audio theough it using one side of your stereo receiver and do the “cup test” (put a thin carpet nail where the ...

Re: lancaster lathe cut ? (what happen to him)

He has taken money from, and then ghosted, a lot of folks on here. Both as record customers and in the cutting community.

As far as i know, nobody has heard from him in at least 5 months as of May 2022.

Re: lancaster lathe cut ? (what happen to him)

He disappeared after taking $4000 from me for gear he never sent. Many others on here got grifted by him. It’s a shame, because at one point he was a valuable member of the community.

Re: Smoke Grey Polycarbonate Blanks available! 7", 10", 12"

They are standard polycarbonate, so if you have had luck with clear or black polycarbonate, this would be the same. I personally only do diamond cutting with Myshanks blanks, when i do diamond cutting at all. I only guarantee these blanks to work with the embossing method, so try any other type of n...

Great! Any chance to upload a rip? Im curious of what other people consider 'a little background noise'. Thanks!

Best,
Bob
The background noise he is getting is a cut problem with his diamond setup, NOT an artifact from the cutting head. The TKV cutting head doesn't introduce any extra noise.

Lathe Cut Camp 15 - July 23-25, 2022 Tucson, AZ

This will also probably sell out quickly, so if you want to come, don't wait....

Buy a 100g (1 newton) spring scale on Amazon. Put the needle down on the disc… lift up the head using the spring scale… right at the moment the needle lifts off the disc, look at yr scale and see where the spring is balanced. The. Re: Presto 6n overhead / feedscrew problem

Your knife may also be bent or have a burr… take out the feedscrew, and run your finger across both edges, see if you feel a rough burr. You may need to take it out and clean it up with a file or a dremel sanding barrel.

Re: Presto 6n overhead / feedscrew problem

You either need to clean schmutz off the knife, or adjust the brass pin at the back of the carriage that rides on the lower backbar so that thr ftont of the carriage overhang (and therefore the knife) hangs a little lower. Mike
