Panel ammeter for cutterhead current?

I'm looking to add some nice panel ammeters to my lathe so I can monitor the head current. Does anyone have any tips/circuits they can share? I'm assuming you can't just put an AC ammeter in series without loss of sound quality.

Re: Anti static liquid

I do the same, with a cotton ball, outside to inside while it's spinning until the blank is coated. Wait to dry, start cutting.

Opcode66 Presto 1C Rebuild

I had Opcode66 rebuild my presto 1C with his new "Super8" coil winding (Todd, correct me if I'm wrong with what you're calling it), and I can't believe how awesome it sounds!! He's managed to increase the output of this thing way past where it was before. I haven't pushed it yet, but I can get to 0d...

How do these compare to myshank blanks? I'm assuming they're not just blank records from off a press with a blank stamper

Re: Measuring weight/counterweight?

Well it works on my lathe, which is a DIY thing that isn't like a 6N or anything.

What I was told, take your measurement as you move the spring scale up. The moment the stylus doesn't touch the disc anymore, take your measurement.

Re: Light marks when cutting with diamond

It seems to me that you may have some vertical oscillation.. Especially if the groove depth is changing. Maybe check that your dashpot is adjusted correctly..?

I made one at one point by tapping a screw into the side of an aluminum 45 adapter

I actually used polyester resin, which is what you recommended earlier in the thread.

Re: Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

I dipped them once, they're still very flexible. It got cold outside, and I've been doing it in the garage because the resin smells so bad... So I'm waiting for it to warm up a little. I guess I need to dip again. How many times did you dip it?

Re: Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

Are you having to dip the cones multiple times in resin? I did one dip and they're still very flexible
