There is a virtually standard by georg neumann which says that: "positive half-wave of a lateral recording has to move to edge of the record" knowing the relation between mono and stereo you can now define every polarity in your system. might be important for correct working of your vari-pitch. Hey! I've built one myself, but I don't have the schematic here right now...sorry The structure was something like this: 1. The feedback amplifier - i made it using a single opamp in differential amp configuration with a gain of approx 40dB and an input resistance of approx 1kOhm. Maybe a standard m...

really nice lathe - congrats! on your decision: maybe it would be a good start to get a simple RIAA encoder which you hook up with your power amp. this is nothing special. you could make it via a multiband eq, or maybe a plugin or if you go for a professional solution then take your soldering iron, ...

it has grooves. as far as i know, these tapes were multitrack endless tape. you could switch between 6 (i think) tracks during playback and the total capacity was up to 4h !!! the tapes were manufactured using another "stamper" tape. they got pressed together heated up cooled down and then seperated...

hmm, for sx68/74 and sc99 it's like that, but with ortofon you don't have any proposal on how many dB at which freq (or at least i don't).... and for the DS522 cutter i would also suggest to use a 100mA fuse, because the head only takes 200mA continuous current!!! ...just try to prevent smoking cutt...

hmm, i think nobody wants to change feedback setting, because you can destroy your cutter... and maybe some do not know how to adjust... but maybe you want to... first i would mark the monentary setting, so you can "reset" if the following procedur doesn't work or sounds bad (or whatever)... then st...

hmm, for me it sounds like the head is oscillating (don't know why it has that strange modulation, maybe because it's actually cutting...) - that's not good!!! you can damage the head easily!!! maybe it gets better if you turn down the feedback, at least it works out for mine (DS522 / Custom Amp) or...

Hmm, that video doesn't work, at least on my computer... You are right the SP-02 and Neumann VMS-80 motors are great, but about measuring i have a few concerns on your method: 1. The Ultimate Analogue Test LP is also just a record that was cut on a lathe, and so you have all the wow/flutter of it in...
