one of the things my father taught me and i have also passed to my son is " there is no such thing as a free lunch". Have the times and people changed that much?

Re: want to buy a Gramophone disc record machine
Hi,you should pm the victorolaguy,im sure he can give you alot of insight. Not sure but i think back then they were making shellac records that actually had abrassives in it so that the needle would wearout instead of the record wearing out due to the heavy weight of the horn n soundbox. Athoa, just ...

Re: Smooth blank edges
Check out Myshank,Stevens got something on there just to do what want. The peeler probably will work as well, but probably one side at a time. Ive done it before just with scissors sharp edge, but i dont even bother anymore, the square edge is fine for me,dont need the extra work n extra plastic shavin...

Re: 320 style embossing cones?
not to derail but I had luck before with a regularly faced diamond stylus, using it like a backwards sapphire. greetings Tyler, just wondering when you used the diamond to emboss, was the tip worn down or was it stil in good cutting condition? I tried with my 1st diamond, but the groove was looking li...

Re: 320 style embossing cones?
Mike, thanks again for hooking me up. Wonder why diamonds dont work as cones for embossing? Maybe Steven has got some insight on this and probably doesnt have diamond emossing cones as one of his stylis for sale cuz he probably came to the same conclusion.

Re: 320 style embossing cones?
Tenshun, been testing out some of PIAPTK sapphire cone as of late, took me about 6 cuts to fine tune my weight n angle settings on my lathe, once i got there, the results were very pleasing to my ears. I,ve embossed to pc before with the tungsten cones ,which i thought was pretty good already, but with ...

Re: Lathe Cut = synonymous with Crap
Is it true that the human ears listen to sounds in mono? If its true ,then stereo is just an illusion precieved by our brain? Can someone clearify this for me,as im no expert. Quality is a subjective view. I have come across many scratched, worn out records that ive bought, just cuz i love the music,a...

Hate to say I did not have any luck with Recordblanks product for embossing. I'm sure they are great for cutting w/ diamond as recommended Definitely not!!! It breaks diamonds. Shitty product. Really! If I remember right, I think the recordblanks guys CLAIMED that it was softer than the MYSHANK bla...
