Re: Restoring a Scully 501 lathe-anybody have literature/man

Any update on this?

I'd love to see how the mechanism to engage/disengage the feedscrew was constructed.

Re: 12" transparent red color lathe records (wanted)

Why does it have to be red? The simple fact it's a lot of hassle for just one record. Having to order a sheet of red PVC for just one record is a waste of money. Not to mention making it into a cutable sandwich. The work involved is not cost effective from a cutters side of things. If you order more...

Bern To Vinyl.

I am not sure if Adi is here or not. But here is a little overview of a great project he is involved in. We need to see more of this stuff documented.

Re: Presto 8dg refurb. (Lathe porn)

For anyone needing their rubber puck redone, i had mine done with terry's rubber rollers to excellent success. I could not find the original measurements anywhere, from anybody, so i measured the gap from the capstan motor to the filter disk and added a millimeter. 1" 22/32nds worked pretty good fo...

Re: Hanoi Amator Project (HAP)

Looks like a fun project.

One thing, I wouldn't use wood to carry the over head. The mechanical movement could cause movement overtime in the support.

Re: WTB: Mastering Transfer Console

I was thinking further of this. You could use Wayne Kirkwood's boards to build a little unit for yourself. EEQ, stereo control, MS Function, flip relays, line drivers. Insert board have to be found yourself but they are everywhere. There are boards around for a Harrison ford HPF/LPF out of the old H...

Re: Variable speed motor for lpi?

Some helpful hints with a controller would be great.

Paint by numbers is not really our thing.

Stop, start, mark and runout would be perfect.
They way I have it in my head is with arduino boards.
but its a bit messy.
A simplified version would be great.

I shall keep searching.
