Re: Wanted: Disc Cutting Machine

To me it looks like something like VR is needed. ..also don't expect Souri Craftsmanship & SQ. When I found this forum like 6 years ago, some people back then were saying they gonna make a better machine and now in 2023 nobody has finished anything and on the other side you have Souri's machine who ...

Re: Both side print and recordable Picturediscs

I saw your other thread and as far as I understand I think you can go with MyShank. I'm also not Souri registered so I buy from MyShank 1mm transparent blanks to make picture disks. Blank 1 -> adhesive sheet -> sticky photo paper so it sticks to the bottom of disk 1. You do the same for blank 2. The...

Re: Printable Label Stock

Thanks for sharing, I've just received some blank lables from the same company. What printer are you using to print onto these? Or are you getting Flexilabels to print onto them for you? I'm looking into a new printer to print my own labels (very small runs only at the minute) so any reccomendation...

Re: Djing with acrylic discs

Find someone that's CUTTING records rather than EMBOSSING if you want to DJ with them. I would not pay attention to colours since the music comes from the groove no mater what colour is it :) If you wonder if they are ok for DJ-ing - yes, they are. I sell my records all over the world mostly to DJs ...

Re: Printer and Plotter for Sleeves

sounds good, I would just caution against using an inkjet printer if you're doing quantity. I had an Epson Artisan 1430 for a while and solid black art (which most of what I do is) would use up a whole cartridge per order of 20 12x12"s or so. And I would suggest using their proprietary inks for qua...

Re: Printer and Plotter for Sleeves

So, I went to the Epson distributor and they told me that the newer model of Epson, SC-P900 is pro grade printer for exhibitions and prints with really really good quality. They also offered me L8180 which is A3+ size, which is not the perfect size for 12" sleeves but could work to someone, the ink ...

Re: how decrease Technics 1200 TORQUE

Great project and I wish you luck! I have to admit that I was a little disappointed when I saw 7" platter on top of 12" turntable :) Not sure if it was you or someone else but I saw a few days ago kind of the same project, 7" platter on 12" turntable, it just looked strange. Since you have small pla...

Isn't this tonearm used only for monitoring to check if there are skips on the record? If so, why do you guys buy an expensive tonearms?

Re: Printer and Plotter for Sleeves

I think only a good big printer is needed. Cutting the cardboard with razor blade takes a minute if you have some kind of template/frame prepared. You need to fold the sleeve anyway so you will always need some manual work. I'm not sure it is worth to pay big money for big plotter. I've made a lot o...

This one is converted to direct drive. It is MRC16, not 6N but the platter works in similar way https://www.lathetrolls.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8200&p=53005&hilit=presto+mrc#p53005

Re: I sincerely want to buy stereo cutting lathe

You don't have to search for "stereo" lathe. You can buy a lot of lathes and only install a stereo cutting head. Browse the classifieds section of the forum and you will find the "stereo" head thread.
