Re: Any Atom A101 owners? Need a belt

Yep, that weird fabric flat band... I wasn't able to find it anywhere! A 35mm square rubber will work: https://www.lathetrolls.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8429

Picnic plates

Hi!

I've been searching for good picnic plates but the brands some trolls have posted about (Safeway, Solo, etc.) are not available in Spain.

Could you please point me to good picnic plates available in Europe to buy online (Amazon, eBay, etc.)?

Best regards,
Fer

Re: Vanrock Cutting Problem- Trouble with Highs and Lows

Hi, I've been trying to check the frequency response of my ATOM: I've embossed a frequency log sweep from 500Hz to 14000Hz, then I've played it back through a USB turntable to my computer. Then I've played the resulting WAV in my DAW with a freq response plugin. I don't know if the resulting graph i...

Re: Advise on runout / levelling platter

Hi again, My ATOM does still have some wobble/runout in each platter turn. It seems to be not very audible when embossing with a carbide stylus from, but I am afraid it could be more noticeable if using a better embossing stylus (piaptk's sapphires); or if using a cutting stylus, because of the dept...

Re: What should the site look like?

Hi Steve,

I found Rock'n'Roll the most readable theme, but the Prosilver Special Edition option could be the less traumatic :D

Re: RIAA CURVE

If I can revive an old thread just to confirm something that seems obvious to me - in order to run a power amp, you need a preamp, yes? Is this where the mixer is coming into play? I want to run the same sort of set up as JayDC and use my computer as the source, essentially using that to "master" w...

FYI I've replaced a Ø 46mm belt with a Ø 44mm one and most of the wobble has gone :-)

Re: vanrock cutter for repair

FYI I've finally cleaned the old grease and then applied lithium grease. I've also applied a drop of sewing machine oil in some noisy pulleys. Seems to work better now!

Advise on runout / levelling platter

Dear fellow trolls,

My ATOM A101 has a noticeable (both visually and audible) runout. Does anybody know how to get rid of it? Should I adjust the screws in the image to fix it?

Re: Removing ATOM/Vanrock slider knob

Dear fellow trolls, Do you know how to remove the ATOM/Vanrock slider knob without breaking it? Best regards, Fer Finally got it sorted, maybe helps someone: I've removed the knob by simply pulling out with your fingers. In my case, it helped using a flat screwdriver, as my knob was glued with some...

Re: Vanrock Cutting Problem- Trouble with Highs and Lows

Hi all. Bought a Vanrock and I've been lurking on the boards, this site has been a tremendous resource. Made leaps and bounds over the last few weeks, I've been cutting polycarb by hand and seeing a man about a CNC'ing some discs tomorrow. Cutting Polycarbonate with a tungsten needle or a stainless...

Re: Vanrock and embossing

Hi again! Is there an ATOM / Vanrock user who can tell me how much a long shank needle protrudes when it is fully inserted? I think I have height/weight problems with my ATOM: 1) maybe there is something obstructing the hole where the needle is inserted, so it cannot enter completely. In fact, I hav...

Re: Vanrock e-101 weight spring

Hi, fellow trolls! :D The weight spring of my ATOM seems to do nothing. If I turn the weight control left or right, it doesn't matter: the total weight when I gently lean the needle on my digital scale is always the same (159 gr.) Do you know how to reach the spring? Is it very difficult to change o...

Ha ha. I knew it would be that one! Don't have a measurement right now but would be one of the longer ones in a kit like this - https://www.diy.com/departments/plumbsure-rubber-o-ring-pack-of-12/178388_BQ.prd?ds_rl=1272379&gclid=CjwKCAjw7uPqBRBlEiwAYDsr108Ow13eY-QWmxh4EcSMkyKbe8jqrJZeUvEdNyckS4CXQv...

Re: WANTED Atom/Vanrock flat drive belt

Hi! I've got no luck with the bunch of flat belts I've purchased for my Atom. The best flat belt I've got so far "climbs up" while the platter is spinning and finally releases :( Any belt sellers here? Any user sharing its Atom/Vanrock flat belt measures? Any links? Thank you! :) Fer Which belt are...
