Various stylus, will soon selling out 20-30$
Hi dear trolls!
I have for you a very interesting proposal. Earlier I wrote that I own a small collection of stylus, now I'm going to sell them. At the moment there are three different versions, Ruby - aluminum holder, sapphire - Aluminum holder, sapphire - a steel holder. All have the same size, steel holder has no cut. All are suitable for cutting head Presto.
This is not announcement the sale, I just want to ask a few questions!
My colleague tried to make a cut on the cutting head Grampian, but the holder turned wider on 3 tenths of a millimeter. This problem I soon decide, and all owners Grampian owners will be able to buy these styli. I have a specialist who will help me to resize and adapt stylus for different cutting heads. If you are not hard, write here dimensions stylus that you use, so I could understand for which cutting head I can adapt the stylus.

Hi Alexey!
This is very kind of you - thanks!
Styli look like a good option for a lot of mono cutters.
It looks like they have all been made with lower accuracy, resharpened, etc. (different stone length)
Are thay used? Do they have facettes? anyway...
This is great! And I have some nice projects so might be interested in one, or two...

All stones sharpened with high precision, but deepened into the holder all in different ways, so the height of the stone is different. Sharpening Rubies and Sapphires are different from each other, photos under the microscope can I do. I can not understand one of your questions: Do they have facettes? If I understand correctly facettes it is beveled glass side face. Maybe I that that misunderstood or mistranslated, please explain more info what you mean. The photo shows all sections stone from all sides, so I ask for clarification.

You can't see 4 micron burnishing facets without the aid of serious magnification. These all look resharpened. I highly doubt they have burnishing facets.

Yes, you are absolutely right! 100 fold increase produced no results, but there are the 200 and 400-fold, how to make photo immediately upload. I have a very large number of styluses so I have to sell them, but this requires them to examine carefully.
And the last question, polishing the (Facet) is used only for lacquer discs?
Many trolls cut sapphires polycarbonate, acrylic and get very good results, I really hope that my sapphires also will show the good results and will help many trolls save money.

You don't cut poly with sappire. You emboss or impress or whatever you want to call it. You make a groove indentation without cutting away material.

Dear opcode I know that you are a great expert in the field of cutting, I always listen to your advice. I repeatedly heard from you and other professionals that Sapphire does not cut polycarbonate. About a year ago I did a little test, I standard sapphire NS-2S cut Pressed PVC disc, After listening, I been very much surprised. The recording quality was very good, definitely a little background noise was present, it was necessary to experiment with the heat, but I did not kill the new Sapphire. After that I do not leave the idea that sapphire can cut Tiberias materials. I'm not trying to impose their views, it was my personal exeperimental and I made a conclusion. I have more one outstanding question, but first I'll send it to you in a personal message.
Re: Various stylus, will soon selling out 20-30$
PVC is a lot easier to cut than Polycarbonate. It is different plastic though they are both from the same family of polyesters. PVC is softer. So, this is interesting. The next time I have a worn Sapphire, I'll give this a shot with my next patch of PVC blanks and will report back.
As far as Polycarbonate specifically is concerned, it will shred a sapphire. I've tested and chipped a stylus this way.

Totally agree with you, sapphire wears out quickly, but I have a lot of sapphires, will experiment.
Re: Various stylus, will soon selling out 20-30$
I have gotten a good sounding 20 second cut using blank PVC and a sapphire. But I have no idea how I did it, and could never reproduce the results (but haven't tried all that hard).
