strange noise from the amplifier - Vinylrecorder
Hello
I have a vinylrecorder from Souri, I bought it in May 2018. With some problems and few destroyed styluses I have learned a little bit more, so I cutted in the meantime many vinyls with really good sound. But, yesterday I heard a very special new noise, not very loud, but really audible, which appears on the record only when the amplifier is on. I have tested it recording without amp - the noise was gone. The noise is gone, when the amp is on minimum level or is very silent, when it's on the mid-level. I have checked the CD-Player, the noise still exists, no matter, if the CD-player is on or off.
Anybody can help? Or should I make a complaint at Souri and ask him for new amp?
Sorry for my english.

Re: strange noise from the amplifier - Vinylrecorder
I would double check all your cables and connections, depending on how the noise sounds it could be interference from other devices,
all the cables that come stock with the vinyl recorder are unbalanced RCA and the like.
If you use the mixer, it's likely that or those connections as well.

Re: strange noise from the amplifier - Vinylrecorder
thanks, I have checked the cables, and I have nothing changed in the sut up of the cables. The noise came yesterday. Souri just answered me:
You have a problem of one ore more “earth” or “groundloops”.
Unfortunately, you don’t know what this is.
If you would know, you would not have it.
So, you must let explain in your language, what is a “ground” or “earth loop” – and then you can remove it – very interesting problem.
It is not a problem of vinylrecorder, it is a problem with your setup.

I don't think, it's the earth or groundloop. But I will try to connect the amp from anpther power source. This could probably help, if it's a "groundloop".

Re: strange noise from the amplifier - Vinylrecorder
Wow!!!!! thanks tragwag, I have connected the amp from a different power source (not together with other parts of vinylrecorder) and the noise is GONE!!!!! so it was the "earth" in fact. And I think there is less other noise now, which was there from the beginning. Fantastic.

Sounds like you should thank Souri...
