Have been cutting merrily away since August last year, no mechanical issues (150 cutting hours). Today the lathe motor suddenly refuses to work for more than about five seconds after having been switched on (starts at good/correct speed, then slows down to a stop). Can move freely using the winding handle, and makes no difference whether the groove distance is at 10 or 100.
I'm assuming this may be a lubrication issue - which begs the question, what's the best/correct way to apply the lubricant (filled syringe in the crate from Souri).
Just wanted to check experience here before contacting Germany. Thanks in advance...
Re: Vinylrecorder T560 motor issue - lubrication?
... or maybe it's an issue like that described here ...https://www.lathetrolls.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8248&hilit=motor+problem+souri%2A
Re: Vinylrecorder T560 motor issue - lubrication?
The syringe is damper oil. He used to supply a spray can of Ballistol universal mineral oil for lubrication. This doesn't sound like a lubrication issue though...
