Hello trolls!
A friend of mine asked me to 'fix' a record with looping grooves.
When I looked at the record under the microscope I was a bit shocked! Some grooves looked like the chip on one of the sides wasn't completely removed from the disc. I've seen something similar when I'm cutting too loud on my VR but this is a pressed record. I've asked my friend if he tried to 'fix' it himself before sending to me but he insisted that it was a brand new sealed record and they opened it at his shop. I've tried to take a few photos so you can see it. It is the white lines on the record.
I'm really curous what might cause this issue and especially on a pressed record where they probably did test pressings and at least some quality control?
I'm also attaching 'broken' and 'fixed' grooves for the archives.
Thanks!
