Hi all,
I was told by a trusted local vintage repair place that the turntable motor on my Bell Record-o-Fone RC 47-A won’t turn over and is unrepairable. I am inclined to believe them but based on some other factors I am looking for more recommendations for repairs or replacements.
Are there any motor repair specialists anyone could recommend? I would like a second opinion.
As for replacements, is the only option to source other machines with the same motors and hope they don’t have the same issue?
Any guidance is much appreciated, I’m still new to this.

A motor is a motor.
Some are pretty terrible to repair, but I’d be surprised if you can’t find a replacement.
You have to match characteristics, of course, and maybe do some mods, but you should be able to find an electric spiny thing that will spin the other spiny thing.
To be honest, most of the problem is you won’t likely find an exact replacement, so you’ll have to mod it. That’s the hard part.
