scully banding unit schematics

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Anybody have schems or info on it? I got it as kind of a curiosity and to play with it, but i think i could get the timers to work for spiral.

I'm using a delay relay now and the issue with most of them is I only 1sec or 10seconds. Id like a little bit more useful range then that.

Well. If anybody has ideas on the connectors, id like to hear them.

I think the 10 pin goes to the button panel, but i couldn't get a closure to happen to trigger the timers. So i could be wrong. I have no idea on the 4 pin and 2 position barrier strip

Hey flo!

Here's some better pictures.

I was able to activate the coil for the wafer like switch in the center of the unit with a 24vdc power supply, and those wires go back to the ten pin military connector. The other coil in the center resets the setting on the wafer switch. I couldn't activate that one, the wire colors didn't match anything at the 10 pin, so i didn't send 24vdc to the other pins available.

The 4 pin amphenol had about 30vdc and 12vdc at each set of pins.

My hunch is both the 4 pin amphenol (power?) And the ten pin military (button contacts?) Went to the the scully button panel.

Well, in larry bodens book it says the 4 pin goes to the photocell and exciter lamp. The ten pin goes to the sequence panel. No mention of the two position barrier strip. No schem either. :(
