New Test Track for Cutting System Tests ~ Uploaded.
hello
ok i finally did the test file.
you can find it under
http://www.floka.com/cut/lathetrolls_test.wav
the audio is just an old dance track but with good bass and the highs will even bring an sal74 system to its limits if you cut at higher levels.
but cut it at 5cm/s standard level. thats not very loud. the music will be louder then. but that should be ok.
it is 2 min 43 seconds.
44.1 KHz 16Bit
1. 1 kHz -6db lateral, 20s. cut at 5cm/s 40.51 mm lightband
2. 1 kHz -6db left 10s.
3. 1 kHz -6db right 10s.
4. 15 kHz -26db lateral 10s.
5. 10 kHz -26db lateral 10s.
6. 5 kHz -26db lateral 10s.
7. 50 sec audio.
8. 315 Hz -6db lateral 20s. for tracking , distortion tests
9. 100 Hz-6db lateral 10s. for turntable pitch test. waves must be parallel
10. 10 sec 1 khz -6 db at 5cm/s
**************************************
please start your cut exactly at 11 inch. or if you only have 10 inch then on 9 inch start.
cut it 45 rpm.
send me the plate and i will digitize it put the files on my server
i will hopefully start with a vms70,sx74, vinylium ultracut cut on laquer.
and i ask vinylium to do the same on kingston cutter on laquer and pc,diamond.
i will do all cutting without processing. flat into the system. just adjusting gain...
if we have the important cuts we can start the real discussion...
thanks for cutting all that.

The purpose of the test was to try to determine if Vinylium or Vinyl Recorder sounds better. It is an old debate here on the forum... Finally, enough cutters volunteered to cut the same material on their rigs with no real modification, clean cuts. The results have been surprising to say the least. The first cuts were of a musical selection. After that it was suggested that test tones be cut to really get an accurate picture of which system more accurately reproduces audio.

Please use the search feature of the forum. Look for Vinylium vs. Vinyl Recorder. You'll find them as well as a lot of good back and forth banter.JuanPabloCuervo wrote:do you have the links ?opcode66 wrote: The results have been surprising to say the least.
