Jack White invents the Triple Decker record

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Yeah, URP will do (or try) pretty much anything he asks... It's because of him that they started doing the half and half vinyl, glow in the dark, etc....

I'd really like to get my hands on one of those things...

I've never been a big fan of his music, but I am a big fan of his vinyl nerdery.

HOLY SH*T!

When I saw this post & the video, I thought, "OK, cool, but gimmicky.... There have been "record containers" before, like the hard clear plastic round box containing a fancy hankerchief, where the lid of the plastic box had 7-inch record grooves pressed into it... this is just the first time that the product INSIDE the record container, was ANOTHER smaller record..."

But LOOK at the PRICE it's bringing:

Crazy... Recession or no, SOME record buyers out there've got money to burn... and that's a GOOD thing...

There ate a ton of them that have sold for $400-600. I wonder if anyone that bought one from the label is actually going to keep it or if all 300 will show up on eBay in the next few months.
