Replacing a Presto 6n switch?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Anybody know where I would get a switch to replace the on/off switch for a 6n?

I'm assuming you mean the motor switch. Presto used two types of switches on the 6N; a pushbutton momentary and a toggle with a spring that would function as a momentary. The spring type toggle might be hard to find, but you can replace one of those with a regular metal capped momentary pushbutton type like on the later machines. Just have to adjust the height so it's activated when the shift lever is swung one way or the other.
