hi people - i need your help (starting a cutting service)

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

hi there.
i would like to start off by telling yu my ideas and what i aim to do.
i am a techno dj and producer (uk), and i have 2500 to play arouond with.
i wuld like to be able to cut myown tunes - however in the process
i wuld like to start a quick and easy cutting service for djs and prducers alike. i already have quite a backaing of people ready to jump on the opportunity to get their music cut.

however i know nothign about what is the best pssible cutter to do this with. reality is i was gonan buy a vestax vrx2000 i came across - and
the reality is, if i got it id make the idea happen even if it wasnt the best choice.

but what is the best choice for somthing like this?
id expect to be cutting about 10 a week.

so i have 2500 can anyne point me in any direction ti a suitable cuter
and provide additional information on this idea - preferably frm smene with experiance doing the same thing.

thanks

Don't waste your loot on the vestax, it's a glorified toy that's all. Get a Kingston or vinyl recorder. For what you're doing a rekokut or presto probably won't do well for you unless you don't mind cutting in mono.
all the best!
