Where does the oil go for the presto 6n motor

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Where does the oil go for the presto 6n motor

i was wondering if there is way to oil up the presto 6n motor that powers the turntable.
Just recently for some reason when im cutting on 33 1/3 the turntable starts to spin super slow.

Also sometimes when i turn the motor on to 33 1/3 the motor does not start. It works perfectly some times on 78.

Could it be that i new rubber rollers for it?

There are two pots, one at the top on the right side of the 78 puck, the other is on the bottom and has a silver or gold pipe running to it

Take the platter off and see if the capstan starts spinning when you engage the 33. You might just need to adjust the screw back a litle so that the idler gets pushed in to the capstan a little harder. Also make sure your switch is still aligned right... Mine got off it's axis a little and I hve to use a loop of wire to start it...

Also check the connections on your power switch. My second 6n wouldn't spin on 78, I replaced the switch now all is well
