RCA 73B hold down options

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Kicking myself for not even considering this before....

What are options people are using to hold down records on these?
I plan to do poly/lathe cuts on it eventually and getting blanks with two holes not going to be easy

the second hole is 1 inch from the center..

or a record clamp, if the overhead doesn't clamp down on the center pin..

I'd just make a jig, and drill the second hole...
generally its for reproduction.. but i like to play wif it sometimes.. :P

I would do as Jay suggested. A reocrd clamp for the center pin. I see them here and there on eBay. It is the same concept Souri uses for the VinylRecorder.

Souri's looks like a large brass coin (thick circle of brass) with a hole in the middle. The side has a very small threaded hole. A screw goes in to the threaded hole and that is used to clamp on to the center pin. I think it would be easy to have one made. Even for a shorter center pin.

save some money. get an old dubplate, stick a rod in the center hole. Place over poly blank aligning the center holes via the rod. Drill.. done..

ask any guy here, and I'm sure they will agree.. 2 holes are always better then one.. and if you get all 3, well, you have a very sexually enlightened woman..
