depth of groove when cutting

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

depth of groove when cutting

Im interested in having my own records made, it will be a scratching record made up of mostly locked grooves and samples.
When i get my masters cut is it poossible to request a cut depth? or is that relevant to the engineer and musical content?
because of finished uses, im guessing that a deeper groove could only help with keeping it more stable in the groove for the pressed copies.
does depth have any impact on content limitations such as volume or play time lentht?
