testing Audax cutterhead?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Quick and easy test is just to get a multimeter and check the resistance
(Ohms) from one input lead to the other input lead. I think these are supposed to be wired for 16ohms (but I could be wrong).

Best regards,

Markrob reminds us that the DC resistance which is what the multimeter reads when the head is not being fed a signal will be much lower than the head's rated AC impedance. So, single digit Ohmage is most likely if it's on the workbench?
