M12 M12S rekokut

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Does anyone know if those (M12 AND M12S) can carry a stereo head?

I kind of doubt it. IIRC they were often designed to carry horizontal heads (like those found in home recorders) or smaller semipro heads - and those were all mono. The others would know more but I don't think there are any stereo heads that could fit without major modification. The best example Presto 6N I've seen with a stereo head at the very least had to have the carriage modified.

@maniman: HOLY CRAP! First I thought you upgraded to 8DG and that you already have the new Caruso... but then I realized ... :)

The new Caruso is probably the only solution to have stereo cutterhead on these kind of lathes.
