Wilcox-Gay Recordio Model 1C10 HELP

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hey Guys,

I have a Wilcox-Gay Recordio model 1C10 and I need cutting and playing needles and perhaps some cutting discs. I would also like to have a manual if possible. Can you help me?

Thanks a bunch,

Jerry

Steel cutting styli often appear on eBay, as do some vintage playback needles. You can, of course, just use a plain gramophone needle, but you'll be better off tracking down one specifically meant for the pickup. Check for a model number on the playback head itself and try searching for that in particular - it should give you a clue as to what style stylus it takes.
