record molding press Hamilton M225

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hi All,

I am coming to all of you as the specialists in the area :) I have found 2 restored record molding presses HAMILTON from 60-70' and just wondering how much they can be worth. Engine, electric , valves and mould checked, they are OK. Generally, working.
I can buy it but.... Would anyone is able to help and quote it? What do you think?

Will be much obliged for all your comments.

And how much money are they asking for these machines?
Also,
Extruders?
Moulds?
These are semi auto presses which are fine
However you have to spend about 35 k euro for an extruder so two times, around the 5-6 k euro for moulds two times than 3 steam and water valves x two times, one set for each press as well as plumbing, no big deal really,
I do not see any of the above in the photos, may be they are included,
I really doubt it as extrudeers would have been sold for other uses long time ago, and moulds would have been also used in the plant where they wher installed, you need to check it out and do your numbers all up to get them running
Keep posting
Best
Chris

Hi Chris,

Many thanks for your reply. There is one extruder (working) for two presses, molds 2x12' and 1x7' as well as the valves included. Engine checked and works.

Generally works. No sure how it will work with steam boiler.

What do you think how much shall pay aprox? there is no presses on ebay etc to compare....

Best
