Best way to clean laquer and lathe?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

dear Fellow trolls.

What is the best way to clean a laquer from dust. ? I have considered getting an air compressor of some kind.. to blow away the dust..

and regarding Lathe cleaning...

What would be the best way to remove dust and dirt from all parts and areas...?

For cleaning off blanks, I know a lot of people use compressed nitrogen. The "compressed air" in a can you buy at the computer store is no good, the propellants in the can leave a thin residue behind.
