Atom Vanrock, supply voltage?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hi everybody!

i just bought a atom/vanrock cutter from japan. today the machine arrived and it looks great. but now i'm not shure about the supply voltage.
it works on 100v. it is very difficult to find a step down converter from 230v to 100v / 100w max.

does anybody have this machine, and what a converter you use? can i go for a 110v one?

sorry for my english., but i think it's ok to get thru this.

cheers dude's.

peter

Check eBay for makers/models that you can then research quality on as well as pricing. I found a couple listings over there for 230v to 100v step down transformers.

Hi,

Maybe these multipurpose transformers by Signal will work for you. They can be wired for many voltages. Looks to me like the 200 VA unit (part number MPI-200-230) will do the trick. Use 230 Vac secondary and the primary strapped in parallel for 100 Vac and run backwards.

Hi!

I've just purchased an ATOM A-101. I haven't received it yet (fingers crossed!), but I'm already looking for a 230V to 100V step down transformer,as I live in Spain.

What do you think about this transformer?

Hi,
In the spanish flea markets,is very common to find this old voltage regulators used for TVs some decades ago...They usually have several voltage options, meter and they look vintage too!
I use one in my Rek o Kut and works fine!
Saludos.
