My name is Ryan. I'm an audiophile and reel to reel and record cutter fanatic. I'm good friends with Mr. Gib Epling, the best repairman for record cutter related stuff. He has reopened his business, West Tech Services, since old record cutters have exploded with popularity.
He's sending me a Detrola 433 cutter with a MAGNETIC cutting head in it, which is quite cool for a home recorder! The amp will be easy to recap and repair, and he said he'll redo the heads, refurbish the finish on the machine, and repair the original mic. Super nice guy. I'd recommend him for home recorders like Recordios and Presto and Rek-O-Kut type cutters. Also there's a fellow named Leonard Horowitz out in Culver City, CA. He's better with the professional Scully and Neumann cutters. He'll be moving soon. I'll post a pic of my Detrola after it's finished. I'm also going to get a sapphire cutting needle from Gib, too.Kind regards,
