Looking for center spindle clamp

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Looking to clamp down blanks using hex screw. Does anyone have a link or info? Currently using parts from my local hardware store. I've seen a better clamp in your photos. Thanks!

Agnew Analog product looks great, but there is no price and no link to buy on the website.

Well yes I sent email when I visited the website. My other option would be to tap the center spindle or have it modified (replaced) with a threaded part. Anyone doing this? Its for a sp10.

I like SoulBears recommendation, I ordered the Michell clamp but my spindle on the SP10 is too short and the Michell clamp does not grab.

I took a metal 45 adapter, tapped it with a set screw. Works great!

Hi Soulbear, if my SP10 was in original condition the Michell Clamp would work great. But as you can see the spindle is cut short.

I'm not sure if you have enough spindle to use the Kab Super Record Grip but I have had good success with it.

the michell clamp is much better than the standard VR clamp, but I can't use it for cutting, it's too tall!

I took two pics of the KAB record clamp and posted them on imgur for clarity. It's clamping mechanism is quite different than the others and it is very light weight. I'm not sure how tall the Mitchel clamp is, but this on is approximately 1 inch tall.
