smoke effect vinyl pressing

Once you have cut a master laquer, you have metal stampers created and have records pressed from them. Discuss manufacturing here. (Record Matrix Electroforming- Plating, Vinyl Record Pressing.)

smoke effect vinyl pressing

Hi there,

I'm trying to press trasparent base with red smoke on it. (attached for reference, pic1 is the effect display, pic2 is what I pressed)
As you can see, the smoke effect I pressed is no good, the red color swallow the most part of transparent. I use solid red mixed with transparent, and have tried diffrent blend ratio, but the effects are no good.

Is there something about the solid color's melting point?

The next I'll try to mix transparent and red, make sausage, and wrap the sausage, put some transparent granules into it. I'll post them later.

Thanks

i'd say you're almost there. probably bigger patches of solid red in the mix will do the trick.

It sounds right, but the granules gauge are the same, and they will mixed in extruder's screw, so it's really hard to make bigger patches. How did you mix the granules? Thanks!
