Hi Emidisc!
Thanks for your email!
The price for your project depends on the amount,
and on the printing artwork.
How many records do you want?
Do you want whitelabels or printed ones?
Best regards,
Andreas

I'm probably going to be pressing some blank large hole 7"s, in colored vinyl per mossbosses suggestion, over Xmas. Just waiting to get my diamond from The Shank to test. I'll post here when I get them in if you want some.

It's been said a few times that pressed blanks when cut have a lot of background noise. I think it was Dr. Dub that said he has something like 200 lying around because they are unusable.

I could give it a run during the Xmas holidays with 2 mirror stampers, white labels and ultra-smooth evenly heated surface (so perfect mirror without orange peel - we know how to do it) if someone wants to try.
I am pretty doubtful about the results though. Extruded & pressed PVC is hard resistant material. But we are using a very soft compound lately, and crystal is even softer. Who knows

Pressing Blanks
I understand the Vestax blanks cut well,
I personally prefere the "real" record profile so would imagine
a short run to test the market is worth a go?
it depends on cost of course but can't imagine the costs to be greater
than pressing a standard record unless you experts can advise
otherwise I would purchase some subject to test cuts

I'd be interested in trying a few myself. I would vote that we do a clear (crystal/perspex/whatever) run since we all know it would be the best candidate for the lowest amount of background noise.
Not to say that I don't trust the skills of the master presser... I just think that if we want to give it a go and get the best possible resutls then we should minimize the error. And clear would certainly do that. I would be down for a clutch.
PM me pricing if you are serious about doing a run and think you can pull it off with positive results!

No one presses Large holes They are pressed with a standard hole and than the large hole is punched outpiaptk wrote:I'm probably going to be pressing some blank large hole 7"s, in colored vinyl per mossbosses suggestion, over Xmas. I strongly advise you to leave them with a small hole so as to facilitate cutting as it is hard to hold them down during cutting
Dink them after they are cut for a large hole
Someone is flogging a hand dinker for that purpose on ebay for a few dollars (in the UK I think)
Cheers
Chris
United offers the UK center with the built in punch out center adapter. Thought I might try those.mossboss wrote:No one presses Large holes They are pressed with a standard hole and than the large hole is punched outpiaptk wrote:I'm probably going to be pressing some blank large hole 7"s, in colored vinyl per mossbosses suggestion, over Xmas.
