Cooling Plates

Once you have cut a master laquer, you have metal stampers created and have records pressed from them. Discuss manufacturing here. (Record Matrix Electroforming- Plating, Vinyl Record Pressing.)

Is wood a good substitute for aluminum cooling plates? I've seen a few pictures recently with people using wood and was curious about it.

I wouldn’t imagine so. Perhaps for very very small runs… But obviously the cooling plates act as a heat sink so you want something with decent thermal conductivity.
