Cutting polycarbonate or vinyl
After I applied a bit to much force to my cutterhead, it started to "cut" the poly instead of just embossing. The grooves felt rough and the sound quality was .. well, think sitting under a tin roof in a rainstorm. But it made me wonder: Can one actually "cut" poly or vinyl and get acceptable results (I am talking 78rpm mono). What kind of stylus would be required?

Re: Cutting polycarbonate or vinyl
What are you use to cut poly steel stylus or diamond ?
If your using steel the blank must be at heated at more higher temperature 60 degrees
Using a diamond will get better results and you don't have to heated as much say 35 degrees and cutt will be less noisy
Suggested what tragwag Said search and find, plenty of posts here that's where I learning

I guess we're talking celsius here I haven't had the guts to buy and try a diamond, so I guess I let the heat lamp do its work. I am going to try that. Thanks.
