i thin around 6Volts or so.
it runs with 5V pwm.
automation with CNC software?
well the pitch controller is way good enough . you wont get better perfromance without preview....
automatic head lift ?
forget it.
there is no space to build in.
i mean maybe you find a way...but it would not be very solid i guess
if you want stuff like this go and buy a decent mechanics.
scully or neumann or do it from scratch.
the kingston idea was small easy and portable.
i did full automated lathe for my disk-o-mat
head lift was done with a regular servo for rc-cars.
thats pretty easy or do it with an old harddrive.
happy bricolage

some years ago, I did a "mod" for an external amp for the vc-200,
because the internal amp was not powerful for me.
so there was a XLR output on the back, and some stuff between
amp and head (resistor and coil, as far I remember).
also, new calibration of feedback and drive level is needed (be careful!)
and, the amplification must reduced to 20 (I think thats correct),
normally amps are working with 40, so just a simle resistor can do the trick.
good luck
