screen printing on lexan

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

I sent a lexan record to a friend for screen printing, and this is what he came up with. I think it is a really artistic solution for 1-sided records, or even just the label area of regular records.

Looks sweet! Although I can see why the printed one is cool, in my opinion, the clear disc is super sexy, as-is!

What cutter was the lexan disc cut with? The Ludwig VMS, or something else at Complete? Base depth of cut? Stereo modulation (or strictly lateral)? Preview signal-automated, or manual pitch/depth? Stylus material?

Nice.

not the VMS, we've got a Presto 6N we're starting to get working for embossing lexan. This is with the presto 1-D head for now. Manual pitch depth, sapphire stylus, the groove is about 2 mils.

Also, I like making picture discs with transparencies instead of paper.
