Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

I hear Souri gone quiet! Nobody heard from him! Maybe if he repaired 2nd hand units this would never happen!

I do not want here now hold forth on the business practices of Souri, but it's a bit funny, yes!
you barely hear from him when you call there, he does not answer back and he does not repair secondhand recorders.
that is not good for the business because I think you're right!
The people then do together, which have a second hand vinyl recorder, (to fix this!) Is surely clear! he should not be surprised! but no matter, we .. get well without him there! Finally, there are nice people with a lot of experiences and inspirations, one just needs to stick together ... smile ...

:!Wheel covers cutting head! :!: :P
: update! hi trolls & 2 hand recorders, I now have a lot of drivers (cartweeter!) tested, unfortunately, with sobering results! many of these drivers, many in the test through, since these Tweeter (tweeter!), and among others are very stiff in the movement! these do not have a useful move, which would be suitable as a cutting driver! of 20 are only 3 left which are useful and have a good move! More info and images follow the daily! :!:

best regards Scotty 8)

Good work Scott

I am the same, have many here with varied results.
Some can take lots of power but only little movement. Some with good movement but blow too easy. Some with diaphragm too soft and voice coil shifts when glueing cones. Some where I just can't take the plastic off without danaging driver.

I really want to try Diamond Audio D6 but can only find in USA and shipping too expensive.

What are your 3 useful ones so far Scott?

How are you guys making the plastic cones? I tried to make some out of thin plastic sheet, and they're not perfectly round, and 2-part epoxy just peels off (it's PVC). I'll post pictures later

Yes! I do this out of paper and then I dip it in resin.

hey there,...

who have the original RIAA-Curve for the Souri-Head?

I understand that the RIAA curve is from Souris-Head not original iRIAA-Curve, as in example takes place at the Neumann use!
Would be nice if someone could say what.

The one in the middle, with half the plastic cut! I had very high hopes but couldn't actually remove the plastic without damaging cone!

It's readily available, cheap and sounded super loud on a naked test! Used by all top brands like JBL, DALI etc so much be decent! Exact same magnet as original Souri also!

I wouldn't be surprised if this was made for other more expensive brands but re-housed!

I have 2 more if anyone has any recommendations on removing plastic surround! It's stuck on heavily with black silicone. Best way is to precision machine cut but I not have the tools!

Alternatively if someone wants to make me some cones that are the exact same depth as Souris but have a smaller diameter, I will be able try them and post my findings! ;-)

OK Snug, here is my two cents :)

First of all, i am a hobbist, DIY-er, i made it for a hobby, im NOT a studio engineer or something similar.

SO, the signal chain looks like: sound card -> DBX231s -> AMP 2400 König amp -> Phonocar 2/419 tweeters.
I use 3D printed cones, carbon pushrods and and old diacustic sapphire, the whole moving mass of the head is about 2 gramms, the disc is a NOS transco lacquer. Suspension crap, motor noisy one, sorry
The EQ made reading Smaart and my ears 8) I now its looks like crazy but its my best achievment
Please check the pictures:

AND some music :)
A start the video with some needle flick, proof of concept. There is some nice rumble from the Stanton ST150 and from the head moving motor. So, enjoy!
